New Wilmington Theater Project Summer Camp

The New Wilmington Theater Project will host a summer drama camp for students from Grades K-12 to produce a micro-musical called,

“Shh! At the Sugar Cube Cafe”, that will be free to the community at the New Wilmington Borough Amphitheater!

The camp will run for two weeks Monday – Friday from July 15-26th. No camp on the weekends.

Camp will be held at the Borough Park Amphitheater in New Wilmington.

Grades K-6 will be from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and Grades 7-12 group will be from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday, July 26th: All participants K-12 will attend camp beginning at 1 p.m. Parents can pick their child up after the performance on Friday, July 26th. This will allow us to run a full dress rehearsal with both age groups. A Pizza Party will be provided as a celebration prior to the show. The Show will begin at 5:30 p.m., and it will end at approximately 6:20 p.m. The show is free admission.

Inclement Weather: In the case of inclement weather, the camp will be relocated to an indoor location at Westminster College. We will alert participants and families as early as possible as to which building on campus should we need to relocate due to weather.

Payment Information:

• $250 per student

  • $150 for first additional sibling

  • $100 for second additional sibling

  • $50 for each additional sibling (4th sibling and beyond)

• Full and partial scholarships available to students with free/ reduced lunch

• Checks payable to WASD (Wilmington Area School District)

• Payment is due by July 8th.

• Price includes:

  • Personalized instruction regarding numerous aspects of drama, musical theater, and stage productions from professional staff

  • Opportunity to participate in the development of a production during the course of the camp to perform a free community show at the amphitheater on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 5:30 p.m.

  • Pizza Party on Friday for all participants. (Alternative menu can be provided for those with food allergies/ restrictions.)

  • Costumes and props

  •  Daily snack/ drink

  • T-Shirt with show logo (Shh! At the Sugar Cube Cafe)
